Voluntary Contribution

Each year the School Board decides on an amount of money to ask families for to contribute to the range of educational supplies and programs we offer. Voluntary contributions add to the money we receive from the Education Directorate. All money is used to enhance the educational experiences and outcomes for our students. Voluntary contributions help to provide library books, home reading books, Maths and Science equipment, musical instruments, dance music, art materials, sporting goods, special stationery items, subsidizing excursions, garden supplies, Japanese resources, toys, fine motor and gross motor equipment and cooking materials.

Volunteers

Latham Primary has a long history of volunteers supporting our students to reach academic and social outcomes.  Volunteers provide assistance with small groups and individual students, particularly in the areas of reading, spelling, wiring and maths. We have a weekly Meccano program which has been in place for several years, and brings together year 4/5 students and volunteers from the School Volunteers program ACT. All volunteers must sign in at the front office and have a current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
