Under the Australian Curriculum the Mathematics curriculum at Latham is focused on the progression of skill and concept development in the strands of:
- Chance and data
- Working mathematically
Student needs and prior knowledge across the strands are identified through pre-formative assessments. Teachers' knowledge of students' differentiated learning needs allows for the implementation of purposeful teaching and learning programs.
The needs, interests and enjoyment of all students are considered, with the support of up to date resources; opportunities are provided for investigation, problem solving and decision making arising out of real life situations.
